I'll admit, when I first heard Izakaya was about a 3 km walk from the center, I hesitated. But let me tell you – I'm so glad I made the journey. This modern Japanese restaurant has quickly become one of my favorite dining spots, and I find myself recommending it to everyone who asks about good food in the area.

The Space

The moment you arrive, you're greeted with a choice: the minimalist veranda for those warm Croatian evenings, or the beautifully decorated indoor dining room with subtle Oriental touches. I've tried both, and each offers its own charm. There's something incredibly peaceful about the atmosphere here – it feels like a mini escape from the bustling tourist areas.

The Food

The menu is wonderfully extensive, covering everything from classic nigiri and sashimi to creative signature rolls and dim sum. If you're feeling overwhelmed (and trust me, I was on my first visit), go for one of their Sushi Sets. These thematic assortments let you sample a variety of specialties without the agony of choosing just one thing. The contemporary twists on traditional Japanese dishes show real creativity in the kitchen.

Beyond the excellent food and serene ambiance, what truly won me over were the prices. For this quality of Japanese cuisine, the value is exceptional. After your meal, linger on the outdoor terrace with a cocktail – it's the perfect way to end an evening. The walk back to the center feels much shorter with a happy stomach!
